    Sound supressing ear plugs

Does anyone use them? I know they are pricey but I'm interested in trying some and looking for pointers to good brands.

I'm really interested in the suppression ability while being able to hear conversation in the field. Don't think I want/need amplification of sounds like some advertise.

    Any advice welcome. Thanks.

I just got some that I'm pleased with so far. The brand is Etymotic. Last I checked they are still on sale at amazon

Some plugs work well.. but they will never protect your ears as well as over-ear protectors like this.

I would go with the over-ear.

I used to wear ear plugs but it was hurting my ears. Then i changed for earmuff.
