    Island (really a peninsula) covered with oaks & brush out in the middle. No real need for a pit that I can see just yet.

    Dave it gets enought #texascold that snakes mostly disappear during duck season.

    however, this is close to the equator, so it isn't uncommon for a bunch of anacondas to come out of hibernation early and move out of downtown Houston into the area canals.
