Don't plan on sightingh rifles at GPSR
I've always had a slightly distasteful view of Garland Public Shooting Range. The range itself isn't all that good. The guys who work there are the typical hot-shot gun store types. It's always been just an eh place to sight rifles in.
But now they've had an injunction slapped on them by Rowlett that bars them from allowing .30 caliber or larger rifles. So, unless you're shooting a .243 or .270 (no self-respecting black rifle shooter shoots there), don't plan on getting your deer rifle dialed in at GPSR. Elm Fork is your only option for a public range.
I shoot at Quail Creek, out near Texas Motor Speedway. About 30% of the time, some militia group is holding a meeting out there. Good times.

The pains of an ever burgeoning metro mess. I am working so I do not have to retire here.
I'm guessing it has something to do with the rifle round found in one of the downrange houses a few months back.

Elm Fork has expanded greatly in the last few years.
Jacob's plain ( Greenville) might be an option
