Home to over 2,000 trees, a flock of chickens, and just under 2,000 residential students, it takes a lot to keep campus up and running. Through collaborations with nearly every department on campus, Oxy strives to constantly improve all aspects of campus operations to protect our environment today and for years to come.
A few of our accomplishments include:
- Signing the Second Nature President's Climate Leadership Pledge, committing to establish data-driven climate action targets and a roadmap for reaching them.
- Building the 1-megawatt hillside solar array
- Installing 10 Level II electric vehicle charging stations
- Initiating the Bike Share Program
- FEAST Organic Garden, a student-run community garden
- Composting food waste at all campus dining facilities
- Renovating Swan Hall to meet LEED Gold certification
- Establishing the Renewable Energy and Sustainability Fund
- Managing the Occidental Sustainability Investment Fund
